A harbour in the tempest...
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbour in the tempest
But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you...

Whenever I listen to this song by Shakira, I realise that it has, in a very personal way, the most perfect lyrics. I love Coldplay, but seriously, not all their songs CAN be understood. Point in example.."speed of sound"... first time I listened to it I was like "Huh? Birds?!" ... Not to digress, these are "the most perfect lyrics" (in a very personal way!)
"So I find a reason to shave my legs
Each single morning
So I count on someone on Friday nights
To take me dancing and then
To church on Sundays
To plant more dreams
And someday think of kids
Or maybe just to save a little money
....My real life has just begun
Cause there's nothing like your smile made of sun
"So I learned to cook and finally lose
My kitchen phobia
And so I got the arms to cuddle in
When there's a ghost or a muse
That brings insomnia
To buy more thongs
And write more happy songs
It always takes a little help from someone
...Nothing like your love"

Happy Twenty To ME!
I read about some air hostess allegedly killing herself for not being allowed to smoke and the first thing I read is her age. TWENTY. yikes !
I've hardly done any of the things on my "Things-to-do-before-I-Pop-Off" and people my age are killing themselves off.

A remarkable dialogue from the movie - The Last Kiss
Very true too.

Its a monthly thing now!
This time of the year is especially wonderful.. makes me want to write something with chalk on the sidewalk.. draw up something... its very pleasant, the apology of a winter that we have, which I believe has also gone. But the horrible heat is yet to begun.. yes, unless you LOVE the Mumbai monsoon, I think this would be the IDEAL time to visit.. i mean there's absol
utely none of the famed "humidity"... I think last year this time I was writing about the sunlight... I dont know what it is, but February is the month that I really NOTICE the sunlight... I know its there all the other months as well, but theres a magical quality to it in February... its not too harsh, and just enough to make me want to turn my face up and brush a wayward strand of hair out of my eyes and really SMILE at the sun! And today after about a week I washed before five in the evening and went out, and the sunlight was so beautiful I took this picture... oh I also ESPECIALLY love the way sunlight filters through the leaves... its so pretty and romantic ... its almost like a meg ryan movie! :DJanuary 22, 2009

They are turning my head out..
The year is almost over, and if I had the time or the inclination to, I would have pondered over every thing that happened this year.. but for the FIRST time I actually can describe something in ONE word... and the word I would use to describe this year would be EVENTFUL....I mean it was a constant rollllller coaster ... really.
"They are turning my head out
To see what I'm all about
Keeping my head down
To see what it feels like now
But I have no doubt
One day the sun will come out"
Coldplay again... !
I LOVE Coldplay and their music... plagiarism cases be damned.

Every river that I tried to cross....
"Just because I'm losing
Doesn't mean I'm lost
Doesn't mean I'll stop
Doesn't mean I'm in a cross
Just because I'm hurting
Doesn't mean I'm hurt
Doesn't mean I didn't get what I deserved
No better and no worse.."
There was a time when I had loads of solitude, and really to be honest, I love being alone. I love writing (like this), putting on a lovely tracklist and singing along, or watching the stars, sometimes reading re-read books, or watching something feel-good like "Gilmore girls".. really, walking alone around places I know, or even just sitting at churchgate sipping coffee watching the trains...
I have recently taken to re-reading the most inspirational book of my life, ie "By The River Piedra I Sat Down And Wept" (Paulo Coelho). You know, I know its not really SUCH a great book, and there are parts I don't really understand, but its a book about opening yourself to love, to taking chances and risks. I read the book last November and what has followed has been exceptionally wonderful.
So recently I chanced upon it at a book store and I did what I LOVE to do... buying a favourite book! One of my most cherished dreams is to buy up all the books I loved. (Costly dream though! ) And RE-read them! (ok, I know Mr. Cute Guy thinks "NERD ALERT!") :D
There is probably nothing more sacred than having a dream, an aim in your life. However mundane and everyday it may seem. It may be the same dream as a hundred million people, but really, to work towards something, I think thats what life is all about. To be on a constant journey of learning to live, to love and to fulfill your dreams. Maybe our dreams take us to places we've not anticipated. Sometimes we have a lot to discover and a lot to travel till we can rest, and sometimes our dreams overtake us, such that without them, we find that we are LOST....
You are my dream and my journey. The manifestation of all my desires is to spend a day with you. To laugh at silly things you'd say, and to listen intently to any wise words. To play with your fingers and to see my happiness in your eyes. This is my heaven and also, my hell, MY road to Santiago. My journey and my destination.
“....But there is suffering in life, and there are defeats. No one can avoid them. But it's better to lose some of the battles in the struggles for your dreams than to be defeated without ever knowing what you're fighting for." Paulo Coelho, By the river...
